Most universities celebrate graduation in the summer, in the sun with your cohort. We have ours in November, in the sad, rainy weather. Graduation is hosted over several days. Some issues with a November Graduation - International students will struggle to attend as they may go back home. Flights are expensive especially now with the cost of living crisis. - considering international students are one of the few ways the university turns a profit it would be nice if they were given a chance to graduate rather than be excluded. - Disconnected with your Cohort, you would have been away for months before graduation. - Taking holiday from work, alot of graduates will be in jobs by November and will have to take holiday in order to attend graduation. Graduation is apart of the university experience. You deserve to graduate with your fellows. - Its cold and rainy. Whereas a summer one is not only in the sun but will also mark a milestone, you finished university! where as in November, you would have finished ages ago. Some issues the uni have brought up - January start courses wont be able to gradate in the summer. Host a separate one for them or allow them to join the graduation next summer. - Cheltenham Racecourse is too expensive to have 2 graduations. We have FCH chapel which is beautiful and a lovely place to host a graduation. Upvote this, show the university we want a summer graduation!
