At the start of the semester, one of our main goals was to get to know all the amazing student societies at UoG better. To kick things off, we organized a bunch of 1-2-1 meetings with society committees. These chats were a great way for us to introduce the support we can offer, but also to hear directly from them about what their societies are up to this year.

In these meetings, we learnt about the different societies, from academic clubs to cultural and hobby groups. It was super interesting to hear about what they do and how we can work together to make sure their events and projects go smoothly. It felt like the perfect way to start building connections with everyone and see how we can better support their goals.

One of the highlights of the semester so far was running a Pub Quiz during Welcome Week. It was so much fun! The quiz was well-attended, and everyone seemed to have a great time. It was a lively but relaxed way for new students to meet others and get into the university spirit. The energy in the room was fantastic, and we got loads of positive feedback. Definitely a great way to kick off the year and we'll be looking to do it all again!

On top of that, we also ran a range of workshops for Student Leadership Training. It was a chance to help students develop the skills they need to become great leaders in their societies. We covered organizing events and fundraising within societies and sports clubs, and it was amazing to see students there to learn.

All in all, these experiences have been a great way to connect with other students, support societies, and have a lot of fun along the way. We're excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to see all the great things we’ll accomplish together this year!
