Over the past two years, SU Advice has seen an increase in the number of students reaching out for support with their financial circumstances. There has been a specific increase in queries and engagement around food provision and access.
As an SU, we aim to provide support in as many ways as we can for our members. This includes supporting students with food and resource access and education. In the past two years of the cost-of-living crisis, our Full-Time Officer team has run campaigns centered around cost-of-living to promote both food access and to uplift you voice as students.
Currently, we are offering support with food access through SU Advice and our Student Voice Team. If you are looking for support with accessing food and resources, or having a conversation around your current circumstances and what options may be available to you, contact suadvice@glos.ac.uk.
Our Advice Service is able to support you with:
- Understanding your options and providing a listening ear for your concerns.
- Appropriately signposting you to the right financial support team for your circumstances.
- Providing food pantry trial vouchers in Cheltenham.
- Providing Foodbank referral vouchers.
Our Student Voice team is currently supporting re-launching and running our Community Cupboards. These can be found on Park Campus, Francis Close Hall and Oxstalls. Drop into your closest SU space to find out more about what is on offer, and how you might be able to get involved.
