Ness Garratt – Activities and Opportunities Officer

This week your Activities and Opportunities Officer, Ness had completed the collection of data from her recent Drugs and Alcohol Impact survey. This is exciting as this will enable Ness to understand the University’s student body much better and continue with her #kNOwmore campaign with institutional specific data in the New Year.

Ness has also been working with the campaigns team and other Full Time Officers to begin plans around the name days we’d like to highlight in the New Year. Keep an eye out for these as there are many fun and interactive ones that we’d love for students to get involved with.

Varsity plans have continued with UoGSU and Worcester University SU and the initial plans are on track for another good varsity year.

Finally, as we complete semester 1, Ness wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Kit Boulting-Hodge – Education and Community Officer

The final week before term was busy as expected. The Curriculum Transformation Project has new leadership and keeping the Student Voice as a priority has been successful and expanded. In the Quality Assurance the Working Group agreed to propose students coming into the department to assist with co-creation and challenging the current universities lack of students and internships with departments. I have also been part of the Creative Campus whole school discussions which focused on the transformation of Park and the combination of Hardwick. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a restful recovery

Bobola Ajibola – Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week, I collaborated with the Employability and Careers team to bring NHS job opportunities directly to our students. We are organizing an NHS fair to share information on various roles within the NHS, breaking the misconception that only health-related graduates can apply.
I also participated in the Undergraduate International Student Forum to gather their perspectives and provide insights on available support from the Students’ Union.
Additionally, I engaged with journalism students in an interview, where I shared my journey to becoming a full-time officer and highlighted the impactful work and achievements of the Students’ Union.
