Ness Garratt – Activities and Opportunities Officer

Ness is currently on annual leave and is back in office Monday 13th January 2025!

Kit Boulting-Hodge – Education and Community Officer

Happy New Year all! The return to week has been a lot of catching up, I have assisted SVA projects for international students with the re-welcome fayre looming. I have also began creating themes based on the first survey to broadly analyse the responses for what students want. I have also in league with the other officers emailed the Council officials arguing for an injunction for the building/converting of student housing to be reversed. Furthermore, with the president of the LGBTQ+ society we have engaged local community stakeholders and began creating a brief for SHAG week.

Bobola Ajibola – Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week has been productive as I continued supporting new students arriving for the January intake. My efforts have focused on helping them transition smoothly into university life at the University of Gloucestershire. I have provided assistance with key processes such as enrolment, giving information on the Students’ Union and offering general guidance on settling into both academic and social aspects of the university environment. In addition to student support, I have been in meetings aimed at planning and organising a large-scale job fair for students and graduates. This initiative is intended to create valuable employment opportunities, foster connections with industry partners, and support the professional growth of our student community.
