Welcome to UOG's Marxists Society! In these times of increasing political and economic instability the working class are looking for answers, inflation is running rampant, debt is spiralling, growth is stagnating, and our political parties are unable to find a solution. This decade of stagnation and decline have caused not just endless political crises but military ones with full scale war erupting in Ukraine, open genocide in Palestine, and civil wars across the globe. By steeling ourselves in the ideas of Marxism we can learn to understand and analyse capitalist society, the crises which affect it, and how we can progress to a communist society where homelessness, poverty, and starvation are a thing of the past and the blood soaked imperialist war machine has been destroyed once and for all!

UOG Marxist Society activities include: regular educational talks, regular socials such as pub and movie nights, attending local protests and trade union rallies, and attending national communist events.

Join us for our weekly meetings at Francis Close Hall room HC-205 where we have regular educational talks and discussions on topics such as:
- The fight for a free Palestine
- What is fascism and how to fight it
- The foundations of Marxist philosophy and economics
- The Ethiopian revolution
- The rise and fall of communist Romania
- Oliver Cromwell and the birth of capitalism
