- For students aged 21 and over, everyone is welcome. We are currently meeting at FCH Sanctuary on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, 5-6PM (for this term). -
Part of the society is the informal peer support network that becomes created; we aren’t a counselling or advice service but we are all trying to balance life inside and outside of university. Sometimes having someone to chat with is helpful, likewise is having someone to not talk about university workload or work/life balance with is also helpful.
One of the society's aims is to arrange a few social events throughout the semesters which will give you the opportunity to meet other mature students. These socials may vary from an afternoon coffee meet up or a trip into town for music or cinema. We will also encourage you to plan to arrange your own social events so hopefully, everyone has something they can be involved in. Getting something out of this society depends on what we all put in.
There are plenty of other societies and sports clubs at the university that we can all get involved with so maybe finding other mature students with common interests is what will benefit you most from this society.
